His family came form Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, moving to Alleghany county, Pennsylvania on the Monogahela River
at the mouth of Peters Creek. In 1794 he descended the Ohio and arrived at Limestone (Maysville, Kentucky). When Mrs Treber died he married the widow Earle in 1797 and moved to Adams county, Ohio. about 1798 the gunsmith shop of Treber was build. He made guns from the raw material and did all smith work needed on a farm. |
